CRANE SAFETY IS OUR PASSION

Our Crane Safety Experts are certified mobile and tower crane surveyors. HESCO is maritime accredited and its inspectors hold all of the credentials necessary for inspection, certification and job-site access (OSHA 10 and TWIC).

Our history

Heavy Equipment Services Company (HESCO) was formed in 1990 by Edward Shapiro. Ed's prior experience with lift equipment came from working, owning and operating a heavy equipment distribution business, Shapiro Equipment. Ed's passion for cranes motivated him to create HESCO, the leading crane inspection company in the Northeast.

Over the last 31 years, HESCO has grown steadily and currently inspects over 1,800 devices per year, which include but are not limited to Mobile Cranes, Derricks, Tower Cranes, Marine Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Suspended Personnel Platforms, and Below the Hook Devices. HESCO's success is attributed to its reputation of expertise, reliability, integrity and service, earning the approval of companies such as Dimeo, Gilbane, Kiewit, Lend-lease, Skanska, Suffolk, Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) and Turner.
